my worst day ever!!

Bloody hell!! Last Wednesday was the worst day ever. During my training and development class (T n D), my project members and I were to conduct an Ice-breaking session for our so-called trainees who consist of our classmates. And we’ll be graded on the way we conduct the ice-breaking session, and on how successful is the ice breaking in breaking the ice among our trainees. Well the concept of the project is like this. Each project group are to take turns to play the role of trainers during class and the rest of the classmates are to play the role of trainees. So, last Wednesday, it was my group’s turn to play the role of trainers. And we were to conduct an ice-breaking session to break the ice among our trainees. We were only given a time span of about 20 minutes to conduct it. Hell yeah!! We broke the ice all right!! Not only did we manage to break it, we melted it as well!! Well, this time around, I have an international exchange student from Germany, Claudia, in my group. As we were discussing on what game should we conduct for our ice-breaking session, Claudia came up with a game that she played during her ice-breaking session when she did her industrial training in France or somewhere. Anyways, our game is called The Fairy, Magician, and, Giant game. Mind you, it’s one hell of a game. The concept of the game is similar to the “o peng” game or more commonly known as the “Scissors, cloth, and, Stone game. You know.. the game that we frequently played when we were still well, technically kids…However, instead of choosing the traditional Scissors, Cloth, and Stone, each player had to choose between Fairy, Magician, and, Giant. And with each role that they have chosen, they will have to act out the roles as Fairy, magician, and giant and the trainees were supposed to act as crazy as possible as that will spice up the game. The rule of the game is like this. Fairy beats Magician, Magician beats Giant, and Giant beats Fairy. And on the count to three, each trainee would have to act their respective role. The game was meant to be funny, crazy, and interesting and enjoyable. On one condition, ONE mustn’t be SHY!! How on earth are we supposed to know that the whole bunch of our classmates are a bunch of shy, uncooperative, unsporting and *@##*@ people. Hey c’mon, we’re already 21 years old. I’m pretty sure that at this age, we should have conquered or washed away whatever shyness that has overshadowed our true selves for the past 20 years and 11 months of our natural lives. Plus, we have been together as classmates for about 3 years. All those nonsensity about being shy and don’t understand the concept of the game is total BULLSHIT!! For goodness sake, what’s there to be shy anyways. We had explained the rules and demonstrated how the game is supposed to be played. The damn and lame excuses that they gave was that they don’t know how to play and that they’ll only make a fool out of themselves. Well to tell you the truth, the only FOOLS on that dreadful day were my groupmates and I. Where we stood right in front of the entire class looking every bit like a bunch of dongs dongs guilty of sniffing marijuana or something and were waiting for our death sentences. And the lecturer just looked amused or should I say bemused by the way everyone was reacting and behaving and there was a definite SMIRK on his usual expressionless face. Which symbolizes only one thing.. we are TOAST!!! Our precious marks gone up in SMOKES.. If I wasn’t properly brought up… I’d be screaming damn you mother f***ers….F*** all of you!!! But thankfully I was brought up better than that and my parents are totally against foul words. So, instead of swearing and cursing in front of the entire class, I took a deep breath instead and tried to calm my self down with the traditional count of 1,2,3. Honestly, I almost burst into tears at that very moment because the thought of my marks being flushed down the drain was just too much for me to swallow. Agnes, you mentioned before that I’m usually cool about everything.. well, that incident was one when I almost lost my cool…. And I’m sure glad that I didn’t.. because if I did, by the end of the day, I will gain nothing and I’ll lose my friends instead… coz’ when I really blow my top off … I’ll get ugly.. I don’t mean facially, which I already am…and I’m sure, you people definitely wouldn’t want to see it. I’m pretty much a cool person.. But once someone or something ignites my internal flame.. you people better watch out!!
So back to the game, eventually, we had to drag a few trainees out and convince them to play to get the ball rolling. But then again, they played reluctantly and as a result of that, it wasn’t fun at all!! My class has about 25 students that day. And the best part was only about 8-10 trainees participated. We were supposed to play till there’s only one person left. Sadly that didn’t happen. Sucks!! I had a bad feeling that we’re so damn dead. Because our ice breaking session is the WORST if compared to the groups before us.Needless to say, based on the post mortem that our lecturer gave us after our class, it is made official that we are really DEAD… I mean.. how can a simple ice-breaking session, obviously, an assignment which is not only the most enjoyable one ever given to us in this entire degree program, it is also definitely the easiest to score and at the same time have fun. But.. all I can say for now is that we have totally SCREWED up our damn marks!!
Damn my classmates.. they’re just a bunch of selfish, ignorant assholes, who wouldn’t just forget for a few minutes about how they’ll look in front of the entire class and why cant they just don’t give a damn on how others will judge them when they behaved childishly or acted like they’ve lost their minds and why cant they just act crazy and have fun at the same time and have a good laugh...with their dear old classmates whom they will purportedly not see each other again after the graduation. sheesh.. Sometimes I just don’t understand how the minds of these people work. And needless to say, thanks to our “ever so cooperative classmates”, our marks are affected...
I don’t really give a damn whether any of my classmates will be reading this or not. I don’t give a shit if they hate me for this or not. I don’t really give a f*** if they’re hurt or offended by this or not. I was damn pissed off then and basically I’m still very pissed off right now..
Actually after a thorough analysis of our game, I wanted to change our game to “win, lose, or draw” which obviously would not be that shameful and embarrassing for our classmates. The reason was because I’d a terrible gut feeling the night before that something dreadful as this would happen.. and sadly it did happen...with the knowledge that Malaysian students are unsporting..
But, as it’s too late to make any last minute changes, and we’d already submitted our game proposal for the ice breaking, I convinced myself before I could actually sleep that why not give my fellow classmates the benefit of the doubt.
Well, looks like my predictions and my doubts are absolutely true. But then again, I shouldn’t impart all the blame to my classmates. We should be blamed as well, for our so-called poor explanation skills and demonstration skills. At least that’s what the lecturer told us. All in all, I personally think that we really did our best....and there’s nothing more that we could do. There’s a saying: “you can bring the horse to the river but you can never force the horse to drink”. I guess it applies to our ice breaking, one way or the other.

O yeah, two of my all time favourite punk rock band, SIMPLE PLAN, and punk rock chick, AVRIL LAVIGNE, will be performing in Malaysia on the 29th of March 2005 at Stadium Merdeka. But unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to catch them as I’ll be having my finals on the 4th of April. I don’t mind wasting one of my supposedly “study day”to travel up to K.L. to catch them live!!.. I mean this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, which is not to be missed. i mean how often do you get two great acts like these to perform in Malaysia..Well the chances are slim. But sadly, I’ve to get my priorities straight.. and know which is more important...would I rather risk failing my exams just to catch my favourite singers live?? Chances are NOT!! But I feel very sad and disappointed about it. But maybe I’ll catch them some other time, like in U.S.A or U.K., or Australia probably.... well it really depends on where I’ll be heading after my degree. All said and done, there’s nothing much I can do about that. So, I’ll just have to live with it... life goes on... well I suppose..

I’m an avid fan of tennis and I’d been following the Australian Open quite closely. The final results: Marat Safin won the Men’s singles, Black and Ullyet won the men’s doubles, and Serena Williams won the Women’s singles. I’m kinda disappointed that Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, and Roger Federer failed to make it to the finals. But they played high quality tennis. So, they should be praised as well. I’m too disappointed that Serena had won the title instead of Maria Sharapova. I just can’t stand the Williams sisters. They are so egoistic.

That’s all for now. Till then.
